Week 2

Adams PBA Journey

My personal journey in life, health, and renewing my passion

Week 2 got off to a rocky start. I couldn't find the pocket to save my life, even managing to throw the ball into the gutter in the second frame. Additionally, I left frames open three times, which, while it might not sound like much, stung even more when they followed spares and strikes. My first game concluded with a score of 143, dropping my average by 9 points and falling short by 36 pins compared to last week's performance.

In the second game, I finally began to find my groove in hitting the pocket. Nonetheless, my spare game was still off the mark. I missed a simple 10-pin spare I should have easily converted. Overall, though, it was an improvement from the previous game, and I wrapped up the second game with a score of 170.

In the third game, everything seemed to fall into place. I kicked off with an impressive streak of five consecutive strikes, only to let my excitement get the best of me and miss my mark. I faced a challenging 3-6-10-7 split. Remarkably, I managed to pick it up and finish the game with an impressive score of 240. This strong finish was a much-needed boost, increasing my average by 11.6 points to 182 and exceeding it by 69 pins. I'm starting to feel like myself again on the lanes.

Here's a quick recap of the week's statistics:

  • First-ball average: 8.26 pins (mainly due to game 1).
  • Strikes: 38%.
  • Spares: Converted 66%.
  • Makeable spares: A much-improved 78% conversion rate.
  • I also achieved my first clean game of the season, ensuring either a spare or a strike in each frame.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my bowling week!
